Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Dubai on Monday after his visit to Abu Dhabi and as many as 50,000 Indians are expected to attend the 'Marhaba Namo' event at the Dubai Cricket Stadium later in the evening.
Modi became the first Indian PM to visit the United Arab Emirates in 34 years with his visit to Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The last such visit was by former prime minister, late Indira Gandhi, in 1981.
In Abu Dhabi, Modi visited Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, said to be one of the largest Islamic shrines in the world. He also visited Masdar City in the UAE, which is said to be the world's first zero carbon city that runs on solar energy.
The prime minister addressed top investors in the UAE on Monday, calling for $1 trillion investment in India.
When he arrives in Dubai later on Monday, Modi will be accorded a rousing reception by thousands of Indians at Dubai Cricket Association (DCA) Stadium.
